The process of heating and forging hot metal is fun, fascinating and should be enjoyed by everyone (albeit pretty hard work!!) Course bookings & gift vouchers valid for 12 months from date of purchase. 1 person booking - £250 2 person booking - £175 each 3 person booking - £150 each 4 person booking - £130 each Situated in the beautiful Shropshire hills, Jake Hedge runs a fully equipped workshop offering a variety of tailor made courses for all skill levels. Come and 'have a bash' at this ancient craft and leave with two items per person from a choice of three! A Shepherds crook fire poker, fishtail coat hook or textured tealight holder!...and maybe the odd blister!! “Thanks to Jake’s patient and calm teaching” you’ll have no problem getting to grips with the forge and will be swinging a hammer with intent in no time! The day starts at 9:45am where we’ll meet at the forge, a complimentary hot drink starts the day followed by a brief safety talk. Jake will then demonstrate the first piece you'll forge, guiding you through the process. Then it's hammers to the ready and get to forging some hot metal!! You'll forge throughout the day using a variety of techniques and tooling, then leave with your handy work at around 2 - 3pm. What's included? - All materials needed to make a fire poker, coat hook or tealight holder (per person). All necessary PPE. Tea, coffee & water provided throughout the day! Lunch is NOT included, please bring your own. Flexible booking subject to availability. Full payment required to book your place on the course with a 25% non-refundable deposit.
